Greetings and Salutations!
There are two days in the year that cause great celebration among God’s children! In the cold of December, we rejoice to see that Old Testament prophecy was fulfilled: Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
This verse is repeated in the New Testament as a reminder to all who would believe on this Baby: Matthew 1:23.
When we read the words of Isaiah, then see them fulfilled centuries later, even the unbeliever would have to scratch their head and wonder, “Is this Jesus really real?”
Believers know He is real; we met Him at an altar of Grace one glorious day! Why wouldn’t we celebrate the birth of a Savior, Our Redeemer, the One who dwells, abides within us; the One who lives up to every promise… “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).
December is an appropriate time for our Savior to be born; from His birth to His ascension, He suffered at the hands of evil men. For thirty-three years Jesus knew more suffering than any mortal man has ever known, both physically and emotionally!
But then, in the early days of Spring God saw to it that His Son’s work was finished! Spring means the dark days of winter are past and new life begins with a promise of better days ahead; I can’t see Christ’s death, burial and resurrection taking place in any other season!
What a beautiful day to celebrate His Resurrection, with the promise that, one day, we, too, shall rise and join Him in Paradise!
For His little children, these are the two most blessed, most celebrated days of the year; “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted” (Isaiah 53:4).
And, now, Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for all who call on His name: “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Christmas is joyous, Easter is glorious, but our greatest celebration is every time we call on Him and the Holy Ghost witnesses to our heart that we have entered the Throne Room of Grace! We then sup with Him for a while, expressing our love for Him, telling Him all our troubles and feeling a love and compassion enveloping our being, making us know Jesus is listening, He is loving us, letting us know He will never leave us!
Christmas and Easter made this sweet communion possible, and we celebrate every time we know we have reached that “Mary of Bethany” place…at His feet!
I can’t help but believe, then, that every day Christmas and Easter is being Celebrated again, and again, and again, throughout the year!
Woman of God, I love you; I cherish every moment we get to be together and just praise and glorify our Savior! We may not be together face to face during this season, but, somehow, I know we are heart to heart rejoicing and, together, loving our dearest Friend, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ!
YET A LITTLE WHILE, AND THE WORLD SEETH ME NO MORE, BUT YE SEE ME: BECAUSE I LIVE, YE SHALL LIVE ALSO (JOHN 14:19).
